What is expected of you?
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure data integrity within the company's financial systems.
- Assist with creditor and debtor management, including statement reconciliations and query resolution.
- Process payroll-related accounting entries, including salaries, social security contributions, tax deductions, and related accruals.
- Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with both internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
- Undertake additional accounting and administrative duties as required by management.
What are you expected to bring?
- Currently pursuing an ACCA qualification or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Previous experience in an accounting role, ideally within a commercial, retail, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A meticulous approach with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
