Are you a qualified or semi-qualified accounting professional with strong leadership skills? One of our top clients is seeking an Accounts Team Lead to supervise a team of accounting clerks in a key finance role.
What's expected of you?
- Lead, guide, and oversee a team of junior accounting clerks
- Review and validate daily transaction postings to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensure proper classification and recording of invoices, payments, receipts, journals, and other financial entries
- Carry out regular checks and reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
- Provide training, support, and ongoing guidance to enhance team efficiency and accuracy
- Work closely with the Finance Manager on process improvements and reporting needs
- Support month-end closing activities and assist with additional accounting tasks as required
What are you expected to bring?
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, AAT, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- Previous experience reviewing or supervising junior accounting staff is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational abilities
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
