We are seeking an experienced Claims Engineer to play a pivotal role in project success. This position involves managing BOQs, preparing and reviewing variation claims, conducting site validations, and coordinating effectively with subcontractors and clients.
What is expected of you?

Review project execution against contractual scope, BOQ, as-fitted drawings, technical submissions, and issued quotes, identifying scope ambiguities or commercial inconsistencies.

Assess, verify, and log all variations, extra works, and BOQ items in the claims register, ensuring alignment with signed and accepted documentation.

Liaise with site teams for clarifications, physical validation, and confirmation of asset/tool usage affecting claim accuracy and costing.

Ensure all claims documentation is complete, compliant with company standards, properly filed, and accessible, including variation logs, measurement sheets, and drawings.

Integrate HSE considerations into claims, escalating safety-related items and coordinating with the HSE team for post-incident cost evaluations.

Track and reconcile project costs, quotations, and executed works, supporting scope gap closure and final commercial evaluations for invoicing and contract closure.

Prepare draft and final claims, including a Final Claim Summary Sheet for project closure, and maintain an updated claims dashboard with weekly reporting.

Participate in monthly commercial and finance review meetings, providing summaries of closed and pending claims, and supporting dispute resolution with clients and suppliers.

Maintain integrity, transparency, neutrality, and collaboration across departments while demonstrating effective negotiation skills.

Contribute to internal training, onboarding of junior staff, and improvements in claim documentation formats for better knowledge transfer.
What are you expected to bring?

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years’ post-contract or commercial experience in construction/engineering.

Strong knowledge of BOQs, variation orders, final account procedures, and commercial/contractual terms.

Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Odoo), PDF editing tools, and accurate measurement/financial documentation.

Skilled in communication, cross-functional collaboration, and managing multiple project closures efficiently.

Meet KPIs on claims processed, turnaround times, accuracy, and documentation traceability, minimizing rejections/queries.

Ensure reporting compliance, commercial alignment, and full document traceability for all claims.

Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, Tendering/Procurement, Finance, and Administration for claim preparation and validation.

Uphold professional integrity, commercial awareness, and a solutions-focused approach in all claim-related activities.
