Are you an experienced operations leader in the crypto or financial sector? We’re hiring a part time COO for one of our clients a start up in Malta, a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP), to oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic growth. If you’re a proactive and detail-oriented leader, we want to hear from you.
What is expected of you?
- Ensure the business operates with integrity, adheres to sound business practices, and fully complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and MFSA requirements, as well as directives issued by other relevant authorities
- Oversee the implementation and enforcement of the Company’s internal policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations. Ensure all employees act in accordance with the established code of conduct and ethical standards applicable to a CASP
- Supervise the outsourced HR function to ensure recruitment, onboarding, and staff management processes align with Company policy and regulatory expectations. In the absence of a dedicated HR function, the COO shall assume these responsibilities until a suitable appointment is made
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance operational performance across all departments to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with the Company’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present regular reports to the Board of Directors, providing updates, recommendations, and identifying any deficiencies, together with corrective actions taken or proposed. These reports will support informed discussion and decision-making at Board meetings
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve operational issues as they arise to minimize service disruption and maintain compliance with internal controls
- Ensure all staff engaged in crypto-asset services are adequately trained and knowledgeable about the features, benefits, and risks of each service offered by the Company
- Oversee and approve the selection of counterparties, ensuring comprehensive due diligence is conducted and that all meet the Company’s standards for risk management, compliance, and operational integrity
What are you expected to bring?
- Minimum of five years’ experience in executive leadership roles
- Strong leadership abilities, demonstrating integrity and decisive judgment
- In-depth understanding of strategic business planning and regulatory compliance
- Proficient in data analysis and performance measurement
- Skilled at quickly identifying problems and anticipating potential challenges
