What’s expected of you?
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical systems covering materials labor and equipment based on drawings specifications and Maltese regulations
- Develop competitive bids by assessing project scope materials labor costs and risks
- Analyze costs to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and identifying savings opportunities
- Work with project managers to create realistic project budgets that meet financial targets
- Coordinate with project managers engineers and clients to update estimates based on scope changes
- Manage cost estimates for multiple projects at different stages with accuracy and timeliness
- Build strong relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing in Malta
- Identify project risks such as delays or supply issues and include contingency allowances
- Ensure all estimates comply with Maltese building codes health and safety standards and electrical regulations
- Maintain clear and organized records of estimates bids contracts and project documentation for audits and future reference
What are you expected to bring?
- Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Estimator or Cost Estimator ideally within the Maltese construction or electrical contracting sector
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems installations and applicable Maltese regulations
- Sound understanding of cost estimation methods and project budgeting practices
- Ability to read interpret and analyze electrical drawings plans and technical specifications
- Proficiency in estimation software with strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with experience handling multiple project estimates at once
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a proactive approach to cost optimization
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients suppliers and internal teams
