What is expected from you:
- Oversee and enhance companies fibre backbone to drive capacity growth, resilience, and seamless operations.
- Lead on field and desk operations, including updating GIS maps, preparing schedules, and supporting technicians with splicing and network testing.
- Ensure network excellence using diagnostic tools such as OTDR to troubleshoot and resolve fibre issues (cable damage, signal degradation, system faults).
- Collaborate with engineers to design and future-proof fibre infrastructure, ensuring scalability and compliance with industry standards.
- Mentor, train, and supervise fibre technicians, fostering skills development and maintaining high-quality work.
- Champion safety and reliability by conducting inspections, enforcing compliance with GPON, WDM, ITU standards, and minimising customer impact during operations.
What you are expected to bring
- 5+ years’ experience leading technical teams and managing on-site operations.
- Strong expertise in fibre optic systems, splicing, testing, and fault resolution.
- Familiarity with GPON, WDM, ITU standards and hands-on experience with Layer 1 & 2 telecoms.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, providing solutions during outages or emergencies.
- Flexibility to work evenings or on standby to ensure service continuity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for coordination with internal teams and external partners.
