Finance Manager - Malta

Looking to step into a strategic Finance Manager role with real impact? One of our top clients within the maritime industry is seeking a Finance Manager to report directly to the CFO, playing a key role in maintaining the financial health of the Group. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure full regulatory compliance, and deliver the financial insights needed to support informed decision-making at Board level. 

What's expected of you? 

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and quarterly financial statements across multiple Group entities 

• Lead the year-end audit process and liaise directly with external auditors 

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including accurate and timely VAT submissions 

• Provide detailed variance analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership 

• Oversee cash flow management and forecasting, including bank reconciliations and intercompany balances 

• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting in line with the Group’s growth plans 

• Guide and support the finance team, driving high standards and continuous development 

• Work closely with operations and maritime teams to ensure financial processes support day-to-day activities 

What are you expected to bring? 

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent certification) 

• Proven experience (3–5 years) in a similar finance leadership role, ideally within maritime, logistics, or multi-entity organisations 

• Solid understanding of IFRS and GAPSME standards 

• Strong Excel capabilities: familiarity with accounting systems such as SFM is an advantage 

• Exposure to group consolidations is beneficial 

• Fluent in English; Maltese is a plus 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

• Detail-focused with strong organisational abilities 

• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment 

• Proactive, hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset
