We are looking for a Financial Controller to join an international group of companies in the transportation sector with offices outside Malta. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company, and providing strategic financial guidance.
What is expected of you?
- Oversee the financial management and control of the organization, ensuring strict compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Prepare precise and timely financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses
- Develop and monitor financial budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to maintain a solid financial foundation
- Conduct thorough financial analysis, providing valuable insights on the company's financial performance to senior management
- Implement and maintain effective financial control measures to safeguard the company’s assets
- Coordinate and lead of the annual audit process while liaising with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage all tax-related matters
- Provide financial guidance and support for strategic decision-making, including the assessment of investment opportunities and the implementation of cost-optimization initiatives
- Co-operate with various departments to optimize financial processes
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals
What are you expected to bring?
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the transport or logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a great eye for detail
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
