Step into a leadership role as Financial Controller with a well-established organisation in Malta. You will oversee the finance function, ensuring robust control, accurate reporting, and strong governance. Partnering with senior management, you will drive performance, enhance profitability, and provide strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making.
What is expected of you?

Partner with Post-Contract and Project teams to monitor project performance and profitability against budget, providing actionable insights and improvement recommendations

Conduct costing reviews and variance analyses with Cost Control, identifying cost-saving opportunities and strengthening integration with Finance

Oversee unit overhead expenditure versus budget and implement effective cost-efficiency initiatives

Streamline and optimize operational processes, driving digitalisation and improved financial controls where feasible

Take ownership of the full cashflow cycle, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance working capital management

Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and management accounts

Forecast cash flow positions, borrowing requirements, and investment capacity

Provide strategic financial analysis to support business planning, change initiatives, and long-term growth

Report project and unit performance to Steering Committees and the Advisory Board
What are you expected to bring?

MQF Level 7 qualification (Master’s degree) in Accounting or a related field

Fully qualified ACCA (or equivalent professional certification)

Proven experience in project-related finance, including IFRS reporting, management accounting, and budgeting

Specific experience within the construction industry or project-based environments
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
