Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take ownership of a hotel’s financial operations while contributing strategically to business performance? Join a leading hospitality organisation in Malta and play a pivotal role in overseeing financial management, reporting, compliance, budgeting, and operational finance within a fast-paced 4-star hotel environment.
What is expected of you?
• Oversee all accounting and finance operations across the business
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Review journals, reconciliations, general ledger balances, and control accounts
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and accounting systems
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and business plans while monitoring performance against targets
• Analyse financial performance and report on variances to senior management
• Manage working capital, including cash flow, debtors, stock, and credit control processes
• Oversee payroll processing and employee/subcontractor payments
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Prepare and oversee VAT, Corporate Tax, and other regulatory submissions
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
• Support ERP system implementation and continuous finance process improvements
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and key stakeholders• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
What are you expected to bring?
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
• Experience within the hospitality sector or a fast-paced environment will be considered an asset
• Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, VAT, Corporate Tax, and internal controls
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
• ERP systems experience would be considered advantageous
