Our client, a specialist fund administration company with a strong international presence, is currently seeking a Fund Accountant to manage the accounting and reporting functions for a portfolio of investment funds.
What is expected of you?
- Perform accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for various investment funds.
- Prepare comprehensive financial and management reports for funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Execute cash and security reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and maintain accounting schedules, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and up to date.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Liaise effectively with auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
What are you expected to bring?
- Possess a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CPA, or be in the advanced stages of obtaining one.
- Demonstrate proven experience as a Fund Accountant, ideally within a fund administration or asset management environment.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of IFRS and its application to investment funds.
- Show a meticulous approach to work, ensuring high levels of accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Display initiative and the ability to work independently, managing a portfolio of funds effectively.
- Be proficient in using fund accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Hold the legal right to work in Malta or the European Union.
- Experience with specific fund types such as UCITS, AIFs, or private equity funds.
