We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead financial strategy, enhance operational performance, and contribute to the execution of ambitious growth objectives.
What is expected of you.
- Oversee and enhance the Group’s finance function by planning, organizing, and evaluating financial performance, while implementing effective systems, procedures, and policies.
- Support the CFO in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights on business plans, contracts, regulations, and emerging trends.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and trend analyses to guide senior leadership in operational and strategic planning.
- Strengthen internal controls and support heads of units in improving budgetary processes and financial governance across the Group.
- Ensure accurate ledger maintenance and the timely preparation of monthly management accounts, while supervising and mentoring accounting staff to meet KPIs.
- Present financial reports, including bank balances, debtor/creditor positions, and other key metrics, to the Group leadership team.
- Manage Group cash flow, banking relationships, and VAT compliance, while driving initiatives to optimize cash positions and ensure regulatory reporting.
- Lead and develop the Finance team by providing ongoing support, technical guidance, and professional development opportunities.
What are you expected to bring?
- Holds a professional accounting qualification and a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Brings extensive senior managerial experience in finance roles, ideally within multinational or export-oriented companies.
- Experience in the FMCG distribution sector, particularly within the African market, is considered a strong asset.
- Highly detail-oriented with deep expertise in accounting and financial management.
- Capable of leading and coordinating finance and accounting functions across multiple subsidiaries and international locations.
- Acts as a strategic advisor to the commercial team and key stakeholders, working closely with the CFO to support business decisions.
- Willingness and ability to travel to locations in North and East Africa, twice a year for periods of up to two weeks.
