Our client, a prominent engineering firm based in Malta, is seeking a Head of Mechanical Design & Estimations to oversee all aspects of mechanical design, project estimations, and team development.
What is expected of you?
- Lead and manage the mechanical design and estimations department, ensuring strategic planning, coordination, and monitoring of all activities.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and professional development to a team of mechanical engineers.
- Allocate workloads effectively and monitor individual and team performance against established objectives.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve departmental procedures, standards, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Oversee and drive technical development in mechanical building services including HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, compressed air, fuel systems, and plant rooms.
- Review and validate mechanical designs for accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to project specifications.
- Ensure the preparation of accurate, competitive, and comprehensive estimations for various mechanical projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
What are you expected to bring?
- Hold a valid Warrant to Practise as an Engineer.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate extensive proven experience in mechanical design and estimations, with a significant portion in a leadership or senior management capacity.
- Exhibit strong technical expertise in HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and other mechanical building services.
- Showcase exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
- Be proficient with relevant design software and estimation tools.
- Possess an excellent understanding of local and international building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication.
