Head of People & Performance - Malta

Are you ready to lead and shape the people function at one of our top clients? We are looking for a Head of People & Performance to take full ownership of HR and organisational effectiveness. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive strategy, decisions, and execution, enabling the business to scale and perform without distracting senior leadership.

 

What's expected of you?

  • Take full ownership of the people function, including organisational structure, hiring, performance management, and exits
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for all HR-related matters
  • Prevent HR issues from impacting Tech, Product, or the CEO’s focus
  • Design and maintain scalable organisational structures as the company grows
  • Implement and manage performance frameworks to drive accountability and results
  • Address underperformance promptly, fairly, and decisively
  • Ensure managers are accountable for their teams and outcomes
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for key roles across the business
  • Collaborate with leadership to define roles clearly and hire for long-term fit
  • Raise hiring standards through structured assessment and disciplined decision-making
  • Build resilient teams with depth and succession planning, rather than fragile structures
  • Act as a senior partner to the executive team
  • Challenge decisions constructively when people matters are misaligned with company goals
  • Support leaders while ensuring they retain accountability for their teams
  • Oversee HR operations, including contracts, compliance, visas, and local employment matters
  • Delegate operational tasks effectively while maintaining ownership of outcomes

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • Proven experience leading the people function, in a scaling organisation
  • Confident operating at senior leadership and executive levels
  • Strong focus on ownership, execution, and delivering results
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic, and decisive in decision-making
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-market environments
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or platform businesses is highly desirable
