Ready to lead and grow a Tax Advisory function? One of our top clients, a leading corporate services provider in Malta, is seeking a Head of Tax Advisory to build and expand the advisory offering, drive client relationships, and position the firm as a market leader in tax solutions.
What's expected of you?
- Lead the strategic development and growth of the Tax Advisory function, setting its direction and driving expansion
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of tax professionals, fostering continuous development and excellence in service delivery
- Strengthen and maintain advanced technical tax expertise within the team, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations, including FATCA, CRS, DAC, ATAD, Transfer Pricing, Pillar 2, and other emerging frameworks
- Deliver complex, high-level tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including corporate entities, international groups, and high-net-worth individuals
- Conduct in-depth research on sophisticated tax matters and provide practical, commercially focused solutions
- Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to showcase and promote its tax advisory capabilities
- Design and implement robust tax processes, procedures, and advisory methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality
- Drive business development initiatives by identifying, pitching, and securing new opportunities aligned with the firm’s growth strategy
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to deliver integrated and value-added service solutions
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients and strategic partners
- Stay ahead of market developments and regulatory changes, leveraging insights to support innovation and sustained business growth
What are you expected to bring?
- Fully qualified accountant or tax professional with a minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in taxation
- A recognised professional tax qualification is preferred; candidates without formal certification must demonstrate strong technical expertise and a willingness to obtain the relevant qualification
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, develop, or manage a department or service line
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
- Commercially minded and strategic, with a track record of identifying opportunities and driving business growth
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as familiar with CRM systems and other business development tools
