One of our top clients is looking for an HR Executive – Employee Relations (Operations) to support daily HR matters, ensure consistent policy application, and strengthen employee relations across the organisation.
What's expected of you?
- Act as the main HR contact for operational teams, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with the Training Manager on disciplinary actions, grievance investigations, and employee relations cases
- Proactively identify potential HR challenges and work with managers to implement effective solutions
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and collective agreements, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
- Support management throughout the full employment lifecycle, including interviews
- Supervise and mentor HR Officers across depot locations, ensuring alignment with HR standards and objectives
- Coach HR Officers in handling employee queries and operational HR tasks
- Lead HR initiatives such as employee engagement programs, employer certification, wellbeing activities, and continuous improvement projects
- Contribute to change management efforts to support organisational growth and transformation
- Ensure organisational charts and job descriptions remain accurate and up to date
- Coordinate timely completion of performance appraisals, prepare related reports, and liaise with Training & Development on identified training needs
- Monitor adherence to HR policies and legal requirements across operational sites
- Prepare reports on employee relations, compliance, and engagement metrics for management review
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HRIS data for the designated area
- Perform any other duties related to the role as required by business needs
What are you expected to bring?
- Tertiary-level education with a degree in Communications, Human Resources, or a related field
- Proven experience in HR operations with a strong focus on employee relations; supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Familiarity with change management processes and employee engagement initiatives is preferred
- Demonstrates self-confidence in decision-making and daily HR interactions
- Ability to manage and support others effectively
- Strong political astuteness, with the ability to navigate complex organisational dynamics
- Decisive and able to make sound judgments when addressing HR matters
- Sociable and able to build strong working relationships across the organisation
- Persuasive communicator with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders
- Strong problem-analysis skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose practical solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- General knowledge of Maltese employment law and its application in day-to-day HR operations
- Ability to conduct professional and structured interviews
- Practical experience using HRIS platforms for data management and reporting
