Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take the lead in shaping a company's people strategy? One of our clients is looking for a proactive and strategic HR Manager to join their team. In this key role, you’ll provide both operational and strategic HR support while overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department.
What's expected of you?
- Lead the HR team to deliver effective HR services, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed
- Prepare and present HR reports to the Board of Directors, analyzing key metrics such as staff turnover and labour costs
- Manage onboarding and orientation processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires
- Oversee employee relations, including disciplinary cases, absences, maternity leave, and ensure all practices comply with employment law
- Collaborate with the Director and management team to influence HR strategies and decisions aligned with legislation
- Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures regularly to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, liaising with department heads for job descriptions and documentation
- Handle work permits and related legal documentation for third-country nationals
- Support staff development through training, performance reviews, and career planning to foster growth and motivation
- Manage organizational restructuring when required and monitor staff attendance, timesheets, and leave approvals
- Maintain accurate HR records, issue contracts, warnings, and other official documents
- Provide payroll-related data such as absences, bonuses, overtime, and leave calculations
- Promote a positive work environment focused on employee wellbeing and retention
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies across the organization
What are you expected to bring?
- Positive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in MS Office and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently
- Sound knowledge of HR functions, regulations, and best practices
- Good understanding of Maltese Employment Law and HR best practices
- Experience as an HR Manager in a similar role, preferably managing at least 40 employees, is an advantage
- Familiarity with Indigo Shireburn software is a plus
- Multilingual abilities are considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- MQF Level 5 or higher qualification in Human Resources and Employment Law is desirable
