What's expected of you?
- Oversee employee welfare, development, and engagement, ensuring policies and procedures are consistently applied
- Coach and advise management on employment practices and HR matters
- Support management in workforce planning and optimisation
- Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local legislation and reflect industry best practices
- Serve as a key point of communication on employee relations, policies, and staff initiatives
- Develop and manage departmental goals, business plans and performance management
- Prepare and present periodic HR reports for management and regulatory bodies
- Promote a positive and open workplace culture, enhancing communication, morale, and productivity
- Lead staff engagement and recognition initiatives
- Monitor and support the performance appraisal process, guiding department heads and participating in review meetings
- Provide guidance on career development, training, and employee relations, including legal considerations
- Stay informed on emerging HR trends and best practices, proactively implementing improvements
- Participate in training, workshops, and ongoing professional development opportunities
What are you expected to bring?
- At least 2 years of experience in an HR managerial role
- Fluent in Maltese and English, both written and spoken
- Strong knowledge of HR systems, databases, and HR metrics
- People-focused yet results-driven, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Outstanding listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
- In-depth understanding of Maltese labour law and HR best practices
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be currently based in Malta
- Self-motivated, confident, and efficient, capable of managing, delegating, and following up on tasks effectively
