Are you a hands-on, technically minded individual with experience in mechanical, electrical or general maintenance? Our client, an established manufacturing and distribution company serving Malta’s construction and infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a varied, practical role supporting the maintenance and repair of production machinery, equipment, facilities and utilities to keep factory operations running safely and efficiently.
What is expected of you?
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, assisting with equipment breakdowns where required
- Maintain and repair motors, pumps, compressors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Carry out basic electrical maintenance involving components, sensors, switches, cabling and control equipment
- Carry out general maintenance across factory, warehouse and office facilities, including plumbing, lighting and fixtures
- Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage and potential faults before breakdowns occur
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work and report recurring faults or equipment concerns
What are you expected to bring?
- Previous experience in maintenance, mechanical or electrical work, industrial equipment repair or a related technical role
- Practical mechanical and electrical aptitude with good fault-finding abilities
- Basic knowledge of motors, pumps, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and basic testing equipment safely
- The ability and willingness to carry out both machinery and general facility maintenance
- Ability to follow technical instructions, manuals and safety procedures
- A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication skills in English
Experience within industrial or manufacturing maintenance, particularly production machinery, PLC-controlled equipment or industrial control systems, would be considered an asset. Technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance would also be advantageous.
