Management Accountant – Projects - Malta

Ceek Talent is seeking a driven finance professional to join our client’s dynamic Projects Unit. This is a key role leading day-to-day finance operations, guiding a team, and delivering accurate management reporting in a fast-paced environment. You’ll play an important part in maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making — all while contributing to the continued success of the organisation. 

What is expected of you? 

• Oversee the company’s financial accounting, reporting, monitoring, and internal control systems 

• Lead staff management, including recruitment support, training, task delegation, and performance oversight 

• Prepare monthly Management Accounts in line with strict reporting deadlines 

• Establish, monitor, and analyse unit KPIs on a regular basis 

• Review monthly financial results, report on performance, and recommend improvements 

• Streamline and enhance processes and controls through the implementation of digital solutions 

• Manage inventory records, conduct verifications, and investigate any discrepancies 

• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow reports 

• Coordinate the preparation of audit documentation and liaise with external auditors before and during statutory audits 

• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns 

• Prepare and submit annual MBR requirements 

• Compile and report statistical data to the NSO 

• Stay up to date with changes in international accounting standards, best practices, and relevant regulations 

What are you expected to bring? 

• Fully qualified ACCA or equivalent professional certification 

• Proven experience in project-based finance, including IFRS reporting, management accounting, budgeting, and treasury management 

• Industry experience within the construction sector 

• Strong written and spoken communication skills in both Maltese and English 

• Able to supervise and support a team, including handling conflict when needed 

• Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines 

• Good problem-solving skills and able to work both independently and collaboratively 

• Detail-oriented, proactive, flexible, and efficient, with good business awareness 

• Good understanding of the industry, financial reporting standards, and relevant regulations 

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with the ability to explain financial information clearly
