One of our top clients within the healthcare industry is looking for a motivated individual to support the Financial Controller in the preparation and analysis of management accounts, VAT compliance, statutory reporting, and audit coordination, while also contributing to the strengthening of internal controls and financial processes.
What's expected of you?
- Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, cash flow insights, and variance analysis against budget
- Manage VAT submissions and ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time in line with Maltese regulations
- Assist with the statutory audit process, preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors to resolve queries
- Help strengthen internal controls by supporting their design, documentation, and ongoing improvement
- Reconcile key accounts, including bank, intercompany, and balance sheet, ensuring a smooth and timely close cycle
- Monitor and manage daily working capital to support effective cash flow management
- Review and reconcile billing cycles to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with reliable data and performance analysis
- Assist in maintaining and updating accounting policies to ensure compliance with local legislation and standards
- Serve as a finance point of contact for internal teams and contribute to cross functional initiatives
- Act as a key point of contact for finance related queries, supporting operational teams and contributing to cross functional initiatives
- Previous experience in payroll, ideally within a preparation or review capacity, with a solid understanding of payroll regulations considered an asset
- Exposure to public procurement processes, including bid costing, contract review, and compliance checks
What are you expected to bring?
- Part qualified in ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting or financial control roles
- Solid understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and risk mitigation principles
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- High level of attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information to non finance stakeholders
