Are you an experienced MLRO, Compliance Officer, or Financial Crime professional looking for a senior opportunity within a Corporate Services environment?
We are currently supporting a well-established Maltese Corporate Services Provider in their search for an MLRO & Compliance Officer to join their growing Compliance function.
What's expected of you?
- Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
- Oversee and continuously enhance the firm's AML/CFT framework, controls, policies, and procedures.
- Review and approve customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes.
- Investigate suspicious activity and oversee the escalation and submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Maintain and update the Business Risk Assessment (BRA), Jurisdiction Risk Assessment (JRA), and Sanctions Risk Assessment frameworks.
- Prepare AML/CFT and Compliance reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Act as a key point of contact with regulators, including the MFSA and FIAU.
- Support regulatory inspections, compliance reviews, and external audits.
- Deliver AML/CFT training and awareness sessions across the business.
- Provide guidance on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters across the organisation.
What are you expected to bring?
- Previous experience as an MLRO, Deputy MLRO, Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager, or in a senior AML/CFT position.
- Experience within Corporate Services, Trust & Fiduciary, Funds, Banking, Payments, Financial Services, or another regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Maltese AML/CFT legislation, FIAU Implementing Procedures, and MFSA requirements.
- Experience with AML investigations, suspicious activity reporting, risk assessments, and financial crime controls.
- Exposure to Business Risk Assessments (BRA), Jurisdiction Risk Assessments (JRA), sanctions risk assessments, and client risk classifications.
- Experience liaising with regulators, auditors, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- PQ approval or eligibility to enter the MFSA PQ process will be considered a strong advantage.
- Corporate Services Provider (CSP) experience will be highly preferred.
