Our client, a leading investment and stockbroking firm, is currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to take ownership of client relationships, manage investment portfolios and provide a high standard of investment service in line with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
What is expected of you?
- Take direct responsibility for client relationships and manage clients’ investment needs across a range of services.
- Conduct regular client meetings, both in person and virtually, and perform ongoing portfolio reviews.
- Ensure client relationships and investment activities are managed in line with relevant financial regulations and internal compliance requirements.
- Maintain a professional, ethical and client-first approach when providing investment services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client profiles and supporting documentation.
- Ensure appropriate KYC and AML checks are completed and maintain relevant Source of Wealth and Source of Funds documentation.
- Stay informed of local and international financial market developments.
- Monitor economic conditions, market trends and geopolitical events that may impact client portfolios.
- Participate as a member of the company’s in-house Investment Committee.
- Contribute to investment discussions and portfolio decision-making.
What are you expected to bring?
- A recognised investment services-related qualification, such as CeFA, CFA, B.Com (Hons) Banking & Finance, a Master’s in Financial Services or another relevant MFSA-approved qualification.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar investment or portfolio management role.
- Extensive knowledge of financial markets, both local and international.
- Previous experience managing investment portfolios and client relationships.
- A good understanding of local and EU financial services regulation.
- Familiarity with MFSA Conduct of Business requirements and AML obligations.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A mature and responsible approach with excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately and efficiently.
- Fluency in English, with Maltese considered an advantage.
- Existing MFSA approval to provide portfolio management would be considered a strong advantage.
