Are you a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer who is looking for a new opportunity? If so our Client within the construction industry is looking for someone to support construction projects through efficient sourcing and purchasing of materials and services. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will help ensure timely deliveries to project sites, maintain accurate procurement records, and support day-to-day purchasing activities in line with project requirements and internal procedures
What's expected of you?
- Support construction projects by sourcing suppliers and securing competitive quotations for materials, equipment, and services
- Raise, issue, and track purchase orders in line with project timelines and site requirements
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery schedules, ensuring order accuracy at every stage
- Work closely with site engineers and project teams to ensure materials are procured and delivered on time
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining approved vendor and supplier databases
- Maintain accurate and well-organised procurement documentation, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
- Monitor deliveries, and support the resolution of supply chain or delivery issues
- Conduct market research to identify pricing benchmarks, cost-saving opportunities, and alternative suppliers
- Update procurement trackers, support inventory monitoring, and contribute to reporting activities
- Assist with reporting on cost-saving initiatives and procurement performance outcomes
What are you expected to bring?
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within construction, engineering, or related industries
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and supplier networks is a strong advantage
- Basic knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and purchasing procedures
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP or procurement systems is a plus
- Team-focused, proactive, and eager to learn and take initiative
- Experience working on-site or in project-based construction environments
- Awareness of local construction regulations and compliance requirements
- Understanding of inventory management principles and stock control practices
