Quantity Surveyor (M&E) - Malta

Our client, a prominent organisation within the construction and engineering sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to manage and oversee all cost related aspects of their mechanical and electrical projects.
What is expected of you?
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical and electrical installations, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Manage tender processes, including preparing tender documents, evaluating submissions, and negotiating with contractors and suppliers.
- Administer contracts, including managing variations, claims, and final accounts, to ensure compliance and financial control.
- Conduct regular valuations of work in progress and prepare payment certificates for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project costs against budget, providing regular financial reports and forecasts to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project delivery and cost efficiency.
- Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities, developing strategies to mitigate risks and maximise value.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions and contractual agreements related to M&E projects.
What are you expected to bring?
- Possess a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically within mechanical and electrical projects.
- Be a proficient user of Autodesk AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other PDF measurement tools.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications relevant to quantity surveying, reporting, and commercial administration.
- Possess a strong understanding of CAD and BIM software principles and applications.
- Be capable of carrying out accurate draft financial estimates and cost analyses.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Hold the right to live and work in Malta or the European Union.
- Membership in a recognised professional body such as RICS or a similar institution.
- Experience with various M&E systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical distribution.
