Senior Building Services Engineer – Mechanical - Malta

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to take ownership of complex building services projects?

Our client is seeking a Senior Building Services Engineer – Mechanical to lead the technical and commercial aspects of mechanical projects, from design and cost estimation through project execution.

What is expected of you?

• Lead the mechanical design and technical development of assigned projects.

• Coordinate workshop drawings with other services, structural elements and architectural requirements.

• Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates and material take-offs.

• Review technical specifications, identify project risks and opportunities, and support value engineering initiatives.

• Manage technical submissions and review mechanical equipment and material specifications.

• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical and commercial requirements are met.

• Oversee procurement activities and provide technical support during project execution.

• Act as the main technical contact for clients, attending meetings and resolving project-related issues.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Mentor and support junior engineers while maintaining high technical standards.

What are you expected to bring?

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in building services/mechanical engineering, ideally within a project-based environment.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, design coordination and project execution.

• Experience with cost estimation, BOQs, procurement and technical submissions.

• Strong understanding of project specifications and ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, client offices and suppliers as required.
