Our client, a well established finance organisation providing comprehensive accounting services, is currently seeking a Senior Client Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
What is expected of you?
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial record keeping.
- Prepare management accounts and financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Oversee bookkeeping activities for assigned clients, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Ensure full compliance with Maltese VAT legislation, including the timely submission of VAT returns and related declarations.
- Provide expert advice on accounting and VAT matters to clients, addressing their queries effectively.
- Liaise with auditors and other external stakeholders, facilitating smooth audit processes and information exchange.
- Mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and contributing to their professional development.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
What are you expected to bring?
- Possess a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, or an equivalent.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in a client accounting role, preferably within a professional services firm in Malta.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of Maltese VAT legislation and compliance requirements.
- Be highly proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Show excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, effectively managing multiple client deadlines.
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with clients and colleagues.
