Our client, an established aviation organisation, is seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant to take ownership of inventory accounting and financial controls relating to its spare parts operations. What is expected of you?

Oversee the accounting and financial control of the Group’s spare parts procurement and inventory activities.

Manage inventory valuation, reconciliations, provisioning and reporting across multiple entities.

Ensure accurate accounting treatment of spare parts purchases, repairs, exchanges, sales, disposals and intercompany transactions.

Develop and strengthen inventory and procurement accounting policies, procedures and controls.

Monitor inventory performance, stock turnover, obsolescence risks and working capital.

Support the centralisation of purchasing activities and improve processes across procurement and finance.

Drive process improvements and system integration between procurement, inventory management and finance systems.

Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting relating to inventory and procurement.

Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis of spare parts activities.

Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks and other key stakeholders on inventory and purchasing matters.

Provide financial guidance and support to accounting and finance colleagues supporting the spare parts function.

Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on cost control, process improvement and operational efficiency.
What are you expected to bring?

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification – qualified or currently in progress.

Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, with significant exposure to inventory accounting, procurement accounting or supply chain finance.

Strong knowledge of inventory valuation, reconciliations, provisioning and financial reporting.

Experience working with ERP and inventory management systems.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with reporting and business intelligence tools is an advantage.

Experience within a multi-entity or Group environment will be considered an asset.
