Our client is a leading hospitality operator in Malta, managing a portfolio of some of the island’s most popular and diverse upscale restaurants. They are currently seeking passionate Sommeliers and Junior Sommeliers to join their front-of-house teams across several locations.
What is expected of you?
- As a Sommelier: curate and manage the wine list in collaboration with the restaurant team
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance guest dining experiences
- Conduct staff training on wine knowledge and service standards
- Oversee proper wine storage, inventory management, and ordering
- Engage with guests by sharing stories and tasting notes professionally and passionately
- Work closely with chefs and FOH teams to ensure seamless, elevated service
- As a Junior Sommelier: support the Sommelier in daily operations
- Assist guests with wine selections and pairings
- Maintain stock levels and proper wine storage
- Develop wine knowledge through hands-on experience and training
- Deliver exceptional service while learning and growing in the role
What are you expected to bring?
- Previous experience in a sommelier or junior sommelier role, or strong front-of-house experience with a focus on wine
- Solid knowledge of wines, wine service, and pairings (WSET or similar certification is a plus)
- Passion for wine and eagerness to develop professionally
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Professional appearance and attention to detail
- Fluent English; other languages are a plus
