Ceek Talent is on the lookout on behalf of one of our top clients, a leading hospitality group managing a diverse portfolio of restaurants across Malta. They are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support kitchen operations and ensure consistently high culinary standards.
What is expected of you?
- Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations and food quality standards
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen team members, including scheduling and performance management
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality
- Oversee daily food production and presentation standards
- Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, organised, and well-maintained
- Monitor inventory levels, including ordering and restocking ingredients and supplies
- Assist in menu planning and development, including testing new dishes and recipes
- Strictly adhere to food hygiene, allergen, health, and safety procedures
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Support cost control and budget management within the kitchen
- Step in for the Head Chef when required, taking responsibility for kitchen operations
- Complete all required online training within two weeks of start date
What are you expected to bring?
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working within Mediterranean cuisine
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environments
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
