Our client, a leading Maltese winery with a strong reputation for excellence and authenticity, is looking for a Wine Sales Specialist to join their team. This role is all about sharing knowledge, creating memorable experiences, and helping clients in the HORECA sector discover and select the perfect wines for their venues.
What is expected of you?
- Engage with customers in a professional and approachable manner, offering knowledgeable wine recommendations based on taste, food pairings, and budget
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients, fostering trust and loyalty
- Educate customers on Maltese wines, grape varietals, vintages, and wine trends
- Promote and upsell featured wines and related products to achieve sales targets
- Maintain attractive, brand-aligned wine displays in hotels and restaurants
- Assist with seasonal promotions, special events, and wine festivals
- Share product insights and customer feedback with the team to enhance service quality
What are you expected to bring?
- A genuine passion for wine and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge
- Prior experience in wine sales, hospitality, or customer service (HORECA experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with management and staff across the hospitality industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
- A good understanding of wine regions, varietals, and pairings (WSET Level 3 Diploma or equivalent is an asset)
- Availability Monday to Friday (10:00–19:00) plus a few weekends per year for events
